How do I care for my jewelry?
We pride ourselves & ensure every piece is made with the highest standards & inspected thoroughly before it is sent to you. Hawaiian jewelry does require a certain amount of care & maintenance in order to keep it for a lifetime. It is not recommended to bathe or swim with your jewelry. Avoid contact with hairspray, perfumes, strong solvents or cleaners. Sterling Silver pieces naturally tarnish; this can be removed with most sterling silver jewelry tarnish removers. How often you wear your pieces also determines how often you should clean them. If you wear your items every day then you should clean them at least once a week. If you wear them periodically then clean them after you are done wearing them. Wiping your jewelry with a soft, non-abrasive cloth will help to keep it clean. Periodically you may also consider cleaning your gold jewelry* using a mild jewelry cleaner or mild soap that contains no ammonia, bleach or chlorine. Use a very soft toothbrush (very soft and non-abrasive) with the jewelry cleaner or mild soap (diluted with water) to gently scrub the jewelry. Gently pat dry with a soft cloth or use the cool setting on a blow dryer. To care for pearls; Wiping your jewelry with a soft, non-abrasive cloth will help to keep it clean. Periodically you may also consider using a mild diluted soap that contains no ammonia, chlorine, or bleach (harsh soaps can affect the surface of the pearl) and lightly rub the pearl between your fingers gently and rinse with water. Gently pat dry with a soft cloth.
It's also important to store your jewelery in a safe dry place where they are separated & do not scratch each other, especially if you have jade, pearls or any type of settings with stones. We do recommend a personal safe or even a safety deposit box for best security.
